thanks for responding.
so basically your read on the player is what is going to determine what you can call? i.e. if his range is a little bigger than big pocket pairs, and you are able to float him and take it away on the turn sometimes on a low flop, or just reraise him off it on the flop sometimes. what specifically are you looking for as far as the pf range and his post flop play in these scenarios? i think obviously you would be able to call more profitably because of the skill deficit between you and these players at this limit.
how are you looking to exploit his range when you don't flop a set i guess is the simplified version of my question?

The read is of course the most important thing. Position is number 2.... it's so much easier to take a pot away with position. The skill level of player is the most important however (comes from read obv) if he's bad then you can call more profitably just because a bad player ups your implied odds so much more.
Aggression is another factor.... if he's passive you can obviously get to showdown much more often.
Well the number 1 flop if you miss a set with your pocket pair is flopping an OESD... with 22 that would be a 345 flop of course. Oftentimes I just shove over the FCB.
Evaluating flop texture and comparing it to his estimated range is the key when deciding to continue when you miss your set.

Hey Pete,
I enjoyed the videos and definetely want to see more. This one was not as enjoyable as the first simply because of the size of the table screens. For us old farts that don't see so well anymore, I suggest you stick to one table at a time when doing the videos (unless of course the video topic has to do with multi-tabling). Multi-table is okay, but cascade the tables where they pop up when action is required. This would probably not be an issue if I were using anything other than a laptop, but lots of us play (and research) poker via laptop.

Hey Chuck, welcome to the site and thank you for the comment. It's certainly something I didnt consider, but now that I think of it two tables is kinda small even on my big monitors.

I vote for non cascading tables, I like to see all the tables. From another old fart but with a big monitor.

Great, so everybody can be happy.
I think you have converted me over to NL now. When I sit at a limit table, I find it a grind now.

Hi all As a 6 max newbie, I initially found this site through 'Pillaging Short-Handed 6-max No Limit' on google. After watching two of Pete's videos I am currently absorbing soo much content from this site. I really liked the 'fish finding' tips & have clearly been sitting at bad tables far too long. Just wanted to say thanks! I am spending the day watching & reading :)

I can't get the video to work. When I click on it, I get the following message:
Not Found
The requested URL /25nlvideo1test.wmv was not found on this server.
Is there anyway for me to view the video? I love this idea, and was very excited when I found the video, so I'm pretty bummed out about not getting to see it.
